Bitwa Warszawska

1920

August 1920. The Bolshevik army stands at the gates of Warsaw, urging the city under a terrifying siege. Inside downtown apartments, the families mobilize to defend their fragile new independence. The living room transforms into a frantic civilian mobilization workshop and everyone has something to do. For once, kids do not dodge the chores: gathering newspapers to be sent to the front lines, sewing clothes for soldiers, digging defensive trenches, preparing food distribution for Eastern refugees who are crowding the streets. Father Ignacy Skorupka is the ultimate hero of the kids. Before dying in the battlefield, he has served in the family Parish at All Saints Church.
