Author: Henryk Sienkiewicz

Publishing: 1884

Ukraine 1648. Rozłogi is a secluded Ukrainian estate located within a vast region belonging to the Polish Crown. It serves as the isolated home where the young orphan princess Helena Kurcewiczówna lives in reclusion. There, Helena is kept under the strict surveillance of her late uncle’s second wife, a ruthless matriarch. This woman and her three warlord sons are constantly chasing booties and plunder. For decades, they have accumulated immense riches inside the walls of the Rozłogi manor. Most of their profitable looting raids are targeted against the Ottoman Turkish armies and their allies. Consequently, the manor is packed with exotic wealth, giving the estate a distinct oriental atmosphere. This hoard of gold, weapons, and eastern luxury goods constitutes the literal, hidden treasure of Rozłogi.
